Do your own research

Doing your own research is both a Biblical principle (Acts 17:11) and a useful habit in the Information Age. If you have time, double check the references, consider the logic of the arguments and compare what is written in Bible Themes with other sources.

Stay connected to your local congregation

“Christians find it hard to be Christians” (Paul Vanderklay, Christian Reformed Church pastor). Your local church, if it contains people, will have its fair share of problems. However you should stay connected to your local congregation. Bible Themes is intended to encourage, support and deepen your knowledge of God and is not intended to replace your local congregation and the counsel of your local pastor.
